Prepare your camera gear and using a checklist the night before an event is essential to having a great day shooting sports. Always remember to charge your batteries, mark off your checklist and follow this three-step guideline from the New York Institute of Photography for shooting better pictures:
- Know what you want the subject of your picture to be.
- Draw the viewer's eye directly to the subject by focusing attention on the subject.
- Eliminate anything that distracts attention away from the subject by simplifying.
