Dr. Michael J. Boland and Dr. John J. King, cardiologists with Baptist Memorial Medical Group, recently began practicing medicine at Baptist Memorial Medical Group-Columbus Cardiovascular Care.

 

King, an interventional cardiologist, joined the group July 18.

 

Boland, a general cardiologist, has been with the group since May 2011. Boland has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years and most recently practiced cardiology at Columbus Cardiovascular Care. 

The office is located at 255 Baptist Blvd., suite 402, on the campus of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and the office is closed for lunch from noon until 1:30 p.m. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Boland is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. He earned his medical degree from The University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency at the now closed Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colo. Boland served as chief resident and went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Fitzsimons. His private practice experience includes internal medicine and cardiology.

King most recently served as a hospitalist at Baptist Golden Triangle. Before that, he was a hospitalist at Ark-La-Tex Cardiology in Shreveport, La. King earned his medical degree from The University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport where he served as chief fellow. King also completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center-Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. Board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, he is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.

BMMG is a multispecialty group practice with 31 different specialties in three states—Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. Last year, BMMG formed a partnership with NEA Clinic, the largest physician group in Northeast Arkansas. Most recently, BMMG formed a partnership with Memphis-based Stern Cardiovascular Foundation, one of the largest and most comprehensive cardiology group practices in the region.
